The Electronics Developers and Manufacturers Association (EDMA) announced its launch on 13 June 2017. The Association has been founded by the largest private players in the electronics industry: GS Group Holding, Zelax, ATOL, Etalon factory and Svyaz Engineering - and more than 30 enterprises have expressed readiness to join EDMA. In future the Association will include more than 100 companies. EDMA is intended to develop the Russian electronics industry by coordinating the activity of private companies and the state, strengthening industry cooperation, implementing occupational guidance measures for young professionals, further increasing export potential and entering the global market.
Saint Petersburg will become a leader among the cities with smart digital infrastructure and a global supplier of software and hardware solutions for «smart cities». Government, business, leading universities and industry associations have pooled their efforts to develop the CityNet project - a «smart city» digital platform. The project was presented for the first time at the regional Foresight Fleet 2017 by participants of track «The Future of Telecommunications and Communications» which was headed by the GS Group head-manager of strategic marketing, Andrey Bezrukov. On 6 July 2017 in Smolny at a meeting chaired by the Saint Petersburg governor, Georgiy Poltavchenko, Mr. Bezrukov presented the results of the May expedition.
The GS Group holding company introduced the new dual-tuner TV set-top box under the General Satellite brand with HDTV support and an integrated solid-state drive – GS B533M. The device provides users with an access to high-quality digital TV channels and a full range of popular services. The key difference between the GS B533M and previous GS B531M / B532M models is the increased up to 16GB size of internal memory module. As a result TV viewing becomes even more personalized and comfortable – user gets more opportunities to manage TV content. GS B533M was launched for the Tricolor TV digital television operator subscribers who participate in the equipment trade-in program.
The GS Group holding company introduced a new digital set-top box under the General Satellite brand GS C592. Client STB with a built-in Wi-Fi module and HEVC format support is specifically designed for watching TV content on a second TV-set. The device's wireless connection to the home Wi-Fi network provides a new level of comfort of TV watching. Now, for the first time ever, users have an access to the Tricolor TV operator channels in any video compression format on the 2nd screen.
