The contest of innovative projects in the field of microelectronics More than Moore ("Beyond Moore's law"), arranged by the Skolkovo Foundation with the assistance of GS Venture corporate venture fund, was launched on September 15, 2014. The winners of two special categories established by the GS Group holding company will obtain valuable prizes amounting up to 175 thousand rubles.

GS Venture, the GS Group corporate venture fund, is among the organizers of the contest of innovative hardware projects along with the Skolkovo Foundation and the Advanced Research Foundation. The prize fund, formed by the organizers, amounts to over 15 million rubles. In addition, GS Group established two own categories – "Breakthrough technology" and "Marketable 3D packaging technology for polycrystalline modules, free of any 3D-TSV drawbacks". Authors of the project, who will introduce a nano-device for storing information drastically cutting the actual size of data storage media while increasing the amount of information and the access rate, will be awarded a valuable prize worth 75 thousand rubles. Winners of the second category will get a prize in the amount of 175 thousand rubles. Besides that, they will be provided with the material and technical base for R&D within the project and opportunity to implement an innovative technology of 3D packaging technology for polycrystalline modules at the premises of GS Nanotech, which is a part of the innovation cluster Technopolis GS.

"We take part in the More than Moore contest with the key objective to identify the innovative projects in fields that are marketable and are of top-priority for GS Group," – commented Evgeny Maslennikov, CTO of GS Nanotech, member of judging panel. – GS Group takes great interest in ensuring that the authors of such projects have a chance to implement their ideas, achieve commercial success and contribute to the formation of the Russian professional community. We are ready for consistent and long-term work in this area."

Startups at any stage can sign up to the contest. The main criteria is the development of new devices in photonics, nano-devices and promising ways of storing and processing information, as well as technologies and materials to create nano-scale optical components, 3D integration, wearable electronics, including sensor networks, etc. Submitted projects must have market potential and be relevant for the public, what must be proved by the authors of startups during their presentations to potential investors. Entries for the More than Moore contest are accepted until November 15, 2014.

More than Moore contest of the Skolkovo Foundation aims to find, support and promote the Russian teams and authors of startups in the field of microelectronics. The event, where the GS Group investment and industry holding company acts as a partner, is intended to establish a professional community of developers, elaborating innovative hardware projects. The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation along with Elvees R&D Center (the town of Zelenograd), Russian Quantum Center, Intel, Frost & Sullivan and others also declared their intention to support the contest.
