Canal Overseas and General Satellite agreed on a possible joint DTH project

St. Petersburg, July 12. Management of the General Satellite Corporation and Canal Overseas during the first working meeting expressed mutual interest in developing cooperation in several areas and discussed the details of possible joint activities. The main result of the bilateral relations may be a joint satellite project (DTH), implemented on the basis of the General Satellite Corporation technologies. In particular, they discussed the organization of the broadcasting of Canal +'s content on one of the existing DTH platforms using technological products developed by the Corporation: conditional access system (CAS) and the set-top boxes manufactured by the General Satellite.

Canal Overseas is a subdivision of Canal +, the largest group of companies in France, which offers pay-TV services on all continents. Canal Overseas produces its own content for the international market. The channel package includes movies and thematic programs (music, documentaries, news, sports, etc.).
