“Digital Television Systems” recognized as a leader in social efficiency policy

ublic company NPO "DTVS", an enterprise within Technopolis GS innovation cluster developed by GS Group holding in the Kaliningrad region, was highly esteemed at the regional contest «Russian organization of high social efficiency». The competition was held in Kaliningrad. The company won the first prize in the nomination «For the reduction of occupational accidents and occupational diseases in the production sector organizations». The winners will be awarded at the government of the Kaliningrad region by the end of December, 2013. GS Nanotech, another factory within Technopolis GS, was nominated in the same category and took the fourth place.

«Digital Television Systems» is taking action to prevent injuries and reduce disease rate of the personnel. On a regular basis the safety engineer consults workers on the precautions that have to be taken during the working process. Workbench setup meets the requirements of the Russian legislation on labor protection. The lighting and climate control was implemented. There are also routings that regulate working conditions. Workplaces are assessed annually. The whole set of necessary measures taken has enabled the factory in the past two years to reduce the accident rate to zero. Also, a medical center at the factory provides seasonal vaccination, preventive healthcare, and other activity.

GS Group holding which is the general investor of the innovation cluster Technopolis GS in Kaliningrad region sticks to the ideas of a socially responsible business. Factories within the innovation cluster strive to support and encourage a healthy lifestyle of their workers, corporate sports and fitness activities. «Russian organization of high social efficiency» contest established in 2000 aims at finding companies and enterprises in Russia that seek high social efficiency in their work. The contest takes steps to extend these companies’ experience in this field to further contribute to the development of social partnership organizations.
