G.N. Seleznev, the Chairman of the Russia-Pakistan Business Council, emphasized the following when addressing the session: “We have a great desire for the project of the Russian company General Satellite on creating the first DTH operator in Pakistan to be implemented in the nearest future. The project envisages creation of thousands of modern jobs in Pakistan… I am confident that in case of successful implementation of this project we will receive a serious signal for Russian companies in the fields of energy, mobile communication and IT technologies about the possibility of comfortable and stable operation in Pakistan”.

In furtherance of this context, G.N. Seleznev visited the local branch of General Satellite in Islamabad, which is now preparing the project launch. The branch director A.I. Korenevsky made a presentation of this project with its potential of several millions of subscribers. S.L. Dolgopolsky, director of the Foreign Broadcasting Projects Department of General Satellite, stated that Pakistan will be a continuation of the series of large-scale broadcasting projects of General Satellite outside Russia. We should recall that on July 24 of this year this Russian company performed the test launch of its DTT project in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
