General Satellite is interested in reaching African market

Representatives of the General Satellite Corporation in Johannesburg participated in the largest regional conference SatCom Africa 2010 dealing with the development of satellite technologies in Africa, as well as in the fifth Annual Digital Broadcasting Switchover Forum 2010 (under the auspices of the Commonwealth).

In the course of events, contacts were established and negotiations regarding implementation of General Satellite corporation technologies were held with businessmen and representatives of state authorities of South Africa, Botswana, DR Congo, Mozambique, Mauritania, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Malawi and other countries. General Satellite seeks to promote advanced Russian technologies in these regions.

Foreign broadcasting projects department Director S.L. Dolgopolsky has noted the positive reaction of potential partners with whom there were reached preliminary agreements on cooperation in the sphere of direct-to-home satellite broadcasting and digitalization of terrestrial television.
