March 18, 2015, the Governor of Pskov region Andrey Turchak visited the deep wood processing complex which is under construction by GS Group in Dedovichi district. The visit of the head of the regional administration was one of his planned visits to major production, social and cultural sites in Pskov region.

The Dedovichi production facility complex for deep wood processing includes a tree nursery that cultivates ball-rooted conifer seedlings, forest harvesting division and a number of other units. Sudoma timber mill is now in its final stage of construction. During the visit of the Governor of Pskov region, representatives of the GS Group holding company arranged a short walking tour around the construction site. Civil construction works in the territory of the timber mill have been completed, at present the facilities are being fitted-out on-site, utilities are being created, equipment from the leading international manufacturers has been installed and is ready for commissioning. In terms of technological infrastructure, Sudoma is a unique project for Russia. The plant capacity will be 650 m3 of timber per day.

Yury Turenkov, CEO of Sudoma timber mill, spoke about future plant development plans. The first batch of high-quality construction materials, that include impregnated timber, termo-treated timber and profiled goods, will be dispatched to Russian clients in the summer of 2015. At present, the timber mill is actively negotiating with customers.

The complex is an integrated closed-cycle manufacturer, which uses its own raw materials. Total investment in the project will exceed 3 billion rubles. As soon as all the plants reach planned capacity, about 400 new jobs will be created in the region. In 2014, Pskov region administration recognized the construction of Sudoma timber mill as a strategic investment project.
