September, 7, GS Group starts International Math Contest among students of 9-11 grades of non-capital cities of Russia and abroad.
The main objective of the competition is to provide an opportunity for talented youngsters who live in the non-capital regions worldwide to express themselves at the same time supporting interest of these future specialists to exact sciences and technical professions. Some of them may become a part of the professional team working at GS Group holding in days to come. The winners of the scientific contest will be awarded with valuable prizes and gifts: college scholarships, Apple MacBook Air laptops and Tricolor TV satellite television packages.
Within the last three months of 2013, 40 participants out of 1000 will be selected in two online stages. These forty geniuses will go on a unique journey to Technopolis GS innovation cluster, where they will compete for the title of the winner and will be able to see live world-class high-tech manufacturing. Based on the results of the final tour 10 winners will be chosen. They will be grouped according to age. The students of 9-10 grades will receive Apple MacBook Air laptops and Tricolor TV packages, 11-grade finalists will get personal scholarships from GS Group which they will receive on entering higher education institutions majoring in such professions in demand at Technopolis GS as information technologies, applied math and physics, software and administration of information systems, radio physics and electronics, industrial electronics, microsystem technology, design and technology of electronic computing equipment and many others. The scholarship will be provided in the amount of 7000 rubles per month for each student. It will be paid during nine months.
GS Group holding pays great attention to educational and career-oriented programs in the regions where its businesses operate. For instance, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in cooperation with the leading Russian microelectronics research and production center GS Nanotech launched master's program for students of the Kaliningrad region. In 2013 the first graduates of the program were invited to work at Technopolis GS.
The international math contest for students of non-capital cities is a federal initiative of GS Group holding. The competition is held in collaboration with the leading educational institutions of the North-West Russia: St. Petersburg State University, Herzen State Pedagogical University, St. Petersburg Palace of Youth Creativity, Physics and Mathematics Lyceum of Russia – school 239 in St. Petersburg.
