Investment and industry holding GS Group presents new receiving equipment under the General Satellite brand. This is the third model of satellite set-top box, released by GS Group this year. GS B210 is designed for the trade-in program, launched together with a key partner of the holding, a major satellite operator “Tricolor TV”. The set-top box that supports HDTV is meant to replace the earlier models that do not have this function.
GS B210 is a new digital set-top box in the General Satellite product family supporting high-definition television (HDTV). One of its advantages is notably small size, due to which it does not require much space and can be placed in any convenient location, since an external IR sensor may be connected. The sensor can be installed within reach of the remote control, while the set-top box itself does not need to be in full view.
GS B210 offers the full range of basic options inherent in modern receiving equipment by GS Group. When participating in the trade-in, the subscriber receives a high-quality set-top box with all the necessary functions. In addition to HDTV support, it has an enhanced cryptosecurity, a more powerful processor than that in earlier models, and it makes decoding, processing and conversion of the signal much faster, which increases the speed of switching channels.
Bulk memory card allows activation of all available operator services. GS B210 set-top box has a channels sorting function, supports playback of information from external media (USB flash drive) so that the user can listen to audio files, view videos and images. GS B210 has a new intuitive interface, configurable display settings, popular games “Reversi “, “Minesweeper”, “Jeweler ". The device can easily be connected to old typeTV sets as an RCA cable and Scart adapter are supplied with the product.
As part of the trade-in all subscribers residing in the European part of the country and using the equipment under the General Satellite brand, are offered to exchange their old set-top boxes that do not support HDTV for the new GS B210 at a discounted price. After this exchange subscribers of “Tricolor TV” will have access to 160 channels instead of 50, including HD channels, as well as all the operator’s extra services. Current “Tricolor TV” subscription packages will be fully transferred to the new equipment. Trade-in program is already successfully running. Since its launch in mid-February, users have exchanged more than 60 000 set-top boxes. Through this program, more than six million Russians will have access to satellite digital broadcasting in HD.
