GS Group, international multi-sector holding of Russian origin, has invited talented students from different parts of the world to compete in the math contest. GS Group International Math Contest has gathered the most enthusiastic students who are fond of Math and technical sciences from 8 countries worldwide: 4500 high-school students from non-capital cities have taken part in the 2 starting rounds. The final tour of the competition featuring the best students from Sweden, Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is to take place at Technopolis GS, Russia, Kaliningrad region.
In October and November 45 participants out of 4500 have been selected as a result of two online rounds.
The time for completion of tasks of the 1st and the 2nd rounds was limited by 90 and 180 minutes accordingly. Students had to solve math problems online. In the second online tour the participants were challenged by more complex tasks. The final tour of the Contest will be held at Technopolis GS innovation cluster in the Kaliningrad region. It will unite the contestants who showed the highest results from Malmö (Sweden), Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Almaty (Kazakhstan) and various Russian towns, from the country’s West region to Siberia and Far East.
International math contest for students of non-capital cities is a global initiative of GS Group holding. The contest is carried out in cooperation with higher education institutions. By organizing competitions for young people GS Group intends to raise prestige and popularity of technical education and technical professions which are in demand at Technopolis GS. The holding is the investor of this unique private hi-tech innovation cluster in the Kaliningrad region.

Being an international holding, GS Group supports education and career guidance programs in the regions of its businesses. The company also promotes intellectual activities for youth abroad. The International Math Contest became the first step on the way to organizing such kind of events.
The awards ceremony for the 10 winners of the final tour will take place on December, 8, 2013 at Technopolis GS. The winners from 9-10th grades will receive Apple MacBook Air notebook and a certificate for Tricolor TV equipment installation. 11th grade students will receive GS Group annual personal scholarship upon condition of entering higher education institutions majoring in professions which are in demand at Technopolis GS.
