On March 4 CEOs of most prominent companies in the Kaliningrad region visited high-tech enterprises of Technopolis GS, an innovation cluster, developed by GS Group holding. During the tour, members of the business community appreciated the modern production facilities operating within the cluster and noted the possibility of cooperation with the holding.

Among the heads of the regional leading companies who visited Technopolis GS were CEOs of LLC “AVTOTOR Holding”, JSC “Zavod ZHBI-2”, agroindustry holding “Miratorg”, LLC “GusevMoloko” and other large enterprises. The delegation also included Konstantin Suslov, Deputy Chairman of the Kaliningrad region Government; Dmitry Chemakin, Minister for Industrial Policy, Entrepreneurship and Trade; Anastasia Kuznetsova, Minister of Economy of the Kaliningrad region; Elena Dyatlova, acting Minister for Infrastructure Development of the region, and representatives of the local business community.

The guests visited the most extensive radio-electronic production in Russia public company “Digital Television Systems”, manufacturer of TV antennas and frames LLC “Prankor”, LLC “First Carton factory” producing a wide range of corrugated cardboard products, and a house-building factory LLC “White key”. During the tour the region’s business leaders met up with the enterprises CEOs and learned about the capacities of high-tech industries within the innovation cluster. Several companies have expressed interest in partnership with GS Group holding.

A roundtable discussion was held after the tour, attended by the governor of the Kaliningrad region Nikolay Tsukanov and executives of the leading companies. Participants discussed the prospects of cooperation between the local enterprises and joint efforts for the development of the region’s economic potential. Sergey Denisov, Production Director of GS Group holding, said that the companies within the innovation cluster Technopolis GS are open to suggestions on cooperation in both high-tech and traditional industries.

“Today there are many promising areas for cooperation of our holding with the Kaliningrad region enterprises concerning counter deliveries of raw materials, components, equipment and technology, end product”, Mr. Denisov said, speaking about the regional cooperation of business.

Andrey Bezrukov, Acting Director of Strategic Marketing, GS Group, spoke about the successful experience of developing the innovative infrastructure of Technopolis GS cluster. The speaker noted that private business can become a driver of innovation no less strong than state corporations. “Business should not remain on the sidelines in the innovative development of the country: from the point of view of the economy, the most efficient way of its development is providing private business with market incentives for innovation”, Mr. Bezrukov said.

Technopolis GS is a private cluster. GS Group holding came as initiator of the project and started its construction in 2008. One of the main objectives of Technopolis GS cluster is to significantly contribute to the economic development of the Kaliningrad region and increase its competitiveness in the international market.
