Representative of the General satellite Corporation met in Smolny with

St. Petersburg, July, 8.  Representatives of the General Satellite Corporation met in Smolny with the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Alexander V. Prokhorenko.

The General Satellite Corporation presented the projects in the area of satellite TV broadcasting and also participation in the switching of the terrrestrial TV from analog to digital format. The Committee expressed its approval and support for the projects as well as for increase in Corporation's involvement in foreign markets. Committee for External Relations issued a formal letter in which it recommends the Corporation as a reliable partner and confirms that its activities "meet the goals of strengthening international economic cooperation."

Scientific and Production Company — the General Satellite Corporation — develops a number of broadcasting projects abroad, representing Russian technologies in the international telecommunications market, e.g. control systems middleware (CSMW) for operator functioning, developed by the Corporation, and high-tech electronic equipment. The total number of subscribers relying on the General Satellite technologies exceeds 6.5 million in the Russian Federation alone.
