Representatives of the General Satellite Corporation held a meeting with ITU Area Office

The meeting between representatives of the General Satellite Corporation and Orozobek Kayykov, head of the zonal office of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for the CIS countries took place on September 14, 2010.

Employees of the Department of overseas broadcasting projects informed the ITU on the activities of the company, made a presentation of projects in the field of digital television and designated priority geographic for the company. The ways of cooperation with various ITU sectors and the possibility of our participation in regional initiatives of ITU were also discussed at the meeting.

Cooperation with the ITU is the next step after the General Satellite Corporation became a member of the Co-ordination Group for Digital Broadcasting (KGTSV) of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC).

The parties came to an understanding of the usefulness of working together and agreed in principle on all substantive points of the prospects for cooperation.
