A city holiday celebrating 5th birthday of Technopolis GS innovations cluster was held on the last day of summer. Festivities were organized by GS Group, the holding being the investor of Technopolis GS.
A number of official guests congratulated the innovations cluster and its staff with the anniversary. Among them were Aleksandr Yegorychev, head of the Executive office of the Kaliningrad region Government; Viktor Perepelov, acting head of Gusev Municipal District Administration; Andrey Gnezdilov, head of Gusev Municipal District and Chairman of Regional Deputies Council; Pyotr Savrasov, Development Director, Technopolis GS. Congratulations to the innovations cluster anniversary also followed from Sergey Stavropoltsev, Commercial Director, Tricolor TV. He expressed his appreciation for the contribution that the public company «NPO «Digital Television Systems» and also personally its CEO have made into the development of digital satellite TV in Russia.
Also 45 best performers of enterprises within Technopolis GS were awarded. The innovations cluster annually encourages the staff for their professionalism and contribution into the development of the plants.
Jazz bands Saules Kliosas (Lithuania) and Mo' Blow (Germany) played their sets at the «Day of Technopolis» as part of the City Jazz festival taking place in the city at that time. The performances by jazz musicians came as something new for the usual format of city holidays in Russia, but they were warmly welcomed by the dwellers of the town of Gusev as well as from those who came to the holiday from all across Kaliningrad region. People were dancing and singing to the jazz tunes played at the stage. The headliners of the holiday’s musical part were Zdob si Zdub (Moldova) and Chicherina (Russia) famous in Russia and CIS countries. The festivities culminated in impressive fireworks to the music of F. Chopin.
«This year „Day of Technopolis“ really pushed the boundaries — the annual small town holiday has developed into an international music festival», said Andrey Bezrukov, Head of PR Department, GS Group. «In a way it is an experiment for us when different sorts of music bands, including jazz musicians, played an open-air concert for a mass audience in Russia — that is not typical of a small town holiday in our country. In some towns and cities that kind of concert would not be welcomed by the public at all». However, the company speaker added, those who work in Technopolis GS, their families and also those who came from various places in Kaliningrad region, obviously liked the format of the holiday.
«Today our innovative cluster not only works in the area of economy and high technology, but also fulfills tasks in the field of social and cultural development, we teach, we show something completely new, we set trends», Mr. Bezrukov noted. «We received very good feedback from the city dwellers and from our staff who said they enjoyed the holiday, so we think it was really a success».
